I’ve made the decision to end my blog and start a photography page on facebook instead. I loved writing for the blog and sharing pictures but for the past few months I’ve had very little time to write. I’m excited to start this page and just showcase my photos. My main goal of the page is to show my photographs but also gain clients. If you’re interested, you can go like my page HERE!
Come May, I will be moving out and getting my own place with my best friend, Ashley. In the mean time, I’ve been thrifting a lot and collecting items for our home. Ashley and I have very similar taste when it comes to decorating; anything eclectic, old-fashioned, funky, and colorful! So for the next few months I’ll be posting the thrifts we find for our home.

Yesterday I received another letter from my sponsor child, Ariane Mae. I always get excited to read her letters because it makes this experience more real. She tells me about her life and I tell her about mine.My Dearest Casey, Thank you so much for the pictures that you sent to me. You have cute pets named Lucy, Mandy, Lucky, and Lola. You are so beautiful in your picture. Last month we had a dental check-up and we have also many activities here in the center. I am now in Grade 4 and I study well. How is your family? I hope you will always include me in your prayers that I will be a good child always. Me also, I always pray for you. Thank you and God bless. Love, Ariane Mae
Off to write this beautiful little one back. Happy Sunday!
Recently (and not-so-recently) I’ve taken and edited some photos that eventually got lost in the mix. Sometimes I forget photos I’ve shot until I look back through my pictures a month later. So…here’s some old and new(er) pictures that … Continue reading
I’ve always been the person to make New Year’s Resolutions and never ever stick to them. This year is different because the goals I’m making ARE attainable and I can work on them year after year.

These are my five goals of 2013. Although I have done all five of these things, I want to learn to do them better and more often.
This year has been incredible. I couldn’t ask for better friends or family and my heart wouldn’t be complete without each and every one of you. I love my (not-so-little) Fr-amily! You make me smile and laugh and I couldn’t imagine this life without you all! Let’s make 2013 a year we’ll never forget.
(Caution: lots and lots of photos ahead.)
Friend Families are the best.
Whenever I meet someone that isn’t from Kansas my first question is always, “Why did you move here?!”. Partly because it’s Kansas…and well….it’s Kansas. All we’re known for is flat land, tornadoes, and Toto right? I’ve never been fond of Kansas or my hometown until I learned to appreciate it. And not to mention we have the most beautiful sunrises and sunsets. I’m proud to call this place my home.

Kansas is beautiful, there’s no denying that, but true beauty can be found anywhere. And no place can truly be called home without your loved ones. To my friends and family and everyone in between, my home and my heart would not be complete without you. Much love.
My Happy Place:
Awhile ago I was asked to help a friend with a photo project (seen here) and we decided the best location would be the Great Plains Nature Center. It quickly became my absolute favorite place to go. It’s so big and has tons of trails; I don’t follow the path though, it’s more exciting that way. On a cool fall day with all of the colored leaves on the ground, it becomes a pretty peaceful place. I always make sure I have my Canon or my iPhone to shoot some pictures and a journal my friends and I have been working on (but that’s another post). If you haven’t been before I definitely recommend it. Especially before the AWFUL cold weather starts to roll in. Have I mentioned how much I despise cold weather?! If I could skip over Winter every year I would (minus the holidays of course). I usually visit the trails a few times a week to get away from my demanding school and work flow. In fact, a couple of days ago I set out alone to photograph with my Canon (none of which are seen here) and plan to post them later this week.
In my life I am grateful for…
COFFEEEEEEEEEEEEE (as always)
Seasonal changes and the beauty that accompanies it
(not my photo)
Hilarious pictures like these that keep my laughing (:
(also not my photos)
The love my family and friends show me and the love I have for them.

My new photography buddy, Layne! Yesterday he asked me to be a part of a lighting project for his class. I was reluctant to be on the other side of the camera (eek!) but it wasn’t half bad! We knocked it out in 15 minutes or less! This guy has major skills. Not to mention, he’s on my level when it comes to photography. We both have the same vision, likes, and dislikes. When it comes to ideas (angles, location, lighting, technique) it’s like we can read each other’s minds!
I am forever grateful for this list of things and about 734,280,735,902,849,302,849,320 more.
